“Weisenheimer” - New album out from Gigglemug

Gigglemug - “Weisenheimer”

Bjørn Vidar Solli - guitar        Tim Collins - vibraphone

Hermund Nygård - drums             Daniel Franck - bass

Vibraphone and guitar with a driving rhythm section present newly composed contemporary jazz from Norway, Sweden, and America. "Weisenheimer" is the debut album of the band Gigglemug consisting of Tim Collins (vibraphone), Bjørn Vidar Solli (guitar), Daniel Franck (bass), and Hermund Nygård (drums). They have been playing together since 2016, offering captivating genre-blending music, with one foot in jazz history and one in the present.

Solli knows one of the world's foremost vibraphonists, Tim Collins, from his time in New York, and they have previously recorded one album and done 6 tours together in Norway and Germany.

In 2016, Solli and Nygård decided to start their own project with Collins, and at the top of the list of bassists for this was Daniel Franck. All these musicians have played together in various contexts for 20 years, but the unique chemistry that arose when the four were first gathered as a separate quartet was something they wanted to further develop and document on record in the time after. And now, the album "Weisenheimer" is available for the rest of the world to hear what this is all about.
